WOW!
Summer has come and gone, and we are in the middle of Fall. It feels like Winter is right around the corner.
Why am I writing about the seasons? Am I getting old and just reflecting?
Nope.
If you have good weather this weekend, you should take a few minutes and make sure your house is ready for the onslaught that is to come from Mother Nature.
Check out your Rain Gutters, (Use a ladder, a Chair is NOT a Ladder, don’t be a poster person for the DARWIN AWARDS”. check to make sure all vents are clear and you your heater is in good working order.
It sucks to wake up to 24 degree (Or Colder) weather outside get up and try to turn on the heater and “DOH” it doesn’t light, or the Carbon Monoxide Detector goes off. It sucks to be outside in your undies in 24 degree weather while waiting for the fire dept to show up. 🙂
Make sure your car’s tires, fluids, wipers, etc are all ready to go. Put a emergency Kit in your car with a blanket incase your stranded. Emergency Kit should consists of Water, Snacks, Flares etc.
No I have not had a experience like this, but I have taught numerous safety lectures about this crap when I was in the Navy for my Squadrons, MARINES, and Sailors.
A little bit of planning can make your winter a much warmer, safer one.
Don’t even get me started on Christmas Lights!!
Have a good one everyone!
GO RAIDERS! GO BEARS!
