Good News!! Per the Navy Times, the “Enlisted Information Dominance Warfare Specialist program” is expanding like a 9 month pregnant woman!

The Enlisted Information Dominance Warfare Specialist program is expanding to fleet commands, making more sailors eligible to compete for the new qualification and pin.

The qual was announced last spring and kicked off by a Sept. 20 fleetwide message. Navy Cyber Forces Command announced the expansion of the program Feb. 23 in NAVADMIN 062/11.

Initially the program was only offered at commands directly under Navy Cyber Forces Command. Now the door is open for more sailors to qualify, regardless of rating or command.

Also, special rules are being developed to make it easier for sailors in cyber ratings serving as individual augmentees to begin to qualify while they’re deployed.

“We envision also expanding this program all the way down to our (mine countermeasures ships) and (littoral combat ships), eventually,” said Force Master Chief (AW/SW) Jay Powers, senior enlisted sailor at Navy Cyber Forces Command, based in Little Creek, Va. “We will continue to explore other opportunities for expansion.”
