   Ray, You could not have said it any better brother! Mikey my only regret was that I never had the chance to properly thank you for all your time and effort spent trying to assist your dad in locating me. I was very appreciative as your dad and I go waaaaay back! R.I.P. Mikey!

    I knew your son, he was a great man and I am honored to have known him, we graduated core school together and were all shipped off to serve this great nation. I am currently hold his rememberance in my heart along with many other such as HM3 Uibel and many more that I have watched or heard passed. I want you to know that I am station currently station at NMTC (Naval Medical Training Center) coming from 1st Medical Battalion, 1st MLG. and that every time these new recruit corpsmen pass by and dont render respect to the insign that I put my 11 1/2 inch boot up their ass and remind them what it really means it means your son, my friends, our nations heros.     A new generation of heroes graces our presence! They are the children of the children of “the greatest generation”. We are all witness to a new “greatest generation”! Unique in it’s own right because each and every one took the oath voluntarily. Those who have worn the caduceus understand the dedication and commitment they rose their right hand and swore to. Jim Swink, I know that you, like I would trade places with your boy any time! We should never have to mourn the loss of our children! However, this was no longer a child! He was a man above men! A true Navy man! Let none of us ever forget his sacrifice!

    I had the pleasure of instructing HM3 Swink @ FMTB.  He was a motivated Petty Officer and student.  The Navy lost a great leader, but heaven gains a warrior.

    My boyfriend was at work today (road construction) and he said something made him turn around. When he did he found two balloons and a sealed envelope with a happy birthday wish to Mikey. he would be 22 according to the card. I’m not sure who sent it but I will say that it hit us hard. We have a two year old and I cannot imagine losing him.
    He served our country and fought for our freedom. There is nothing we could say to express how this touched our lives.
    I sent an email to the address that was on the card but im not sure if it was right.
