1. NOMINATION FOR FY-10 ACTIVE DUTY/RESERVE E-9, E-8, AND E-7 SELECTION BOARD MEMBERSHIP
Solicitation for enlisted selection board participants for the FY-10 Active Duty/Reserve FTS Master Chief, Senior Chief and Chief Petty Officer selection boards is underway. 2. MERGER OF STOREKEEPER (SK) AND POSTAL CLERK (PC) RATINGS
The chief of Naval Operations has approved the merger of the SK and PC ratings into the Logistics Specialist (LS). For further information, please review attached NAVADMIN 326/08.

3. NEW LAW AUTHORIZES VETERANS’ SALUTES DURING NATIONAL ANTHEM
Veterans and Active Duty military not in uniform can now render a hand salute during the playing of the national anthem. For further information, please see attached news release.

4. WOUNDED WARRIOR REGIMENT PROGRAM
The Marine Corps Wounded Warrior Regiment provides and facilitates assistance to Wounded, Ill, and Injured Marines and Sailors attached to or in support of Marine Units. For further information, please review the attached press release.

5. ANNUAL SURFACE NAVY ASSOCIATION NATIONAL SYMPOSIUM
The Surface Navy Association will hold its 21st annual national symposium in Arlington, VA from 13-15 January 2009. For further information, please review the attached NAVADMIN 327/08.

6. BUMED CY08 NOMINATION FOR ACTIVE DUTY AND RESERVE AEROSPACE MEDICINE TECHNICIAN OF THE YEAR AWARD
BUMED is soliciting nominations for CY08 Navy Medicine BSO-18 Aerospace Medicine Technician (AVT) of the year. For further information and POC, please review the attached BUMED message DTG 131510Z NOV 08.

7. HM-8463 & 8483 ENLISTED TECHNICAL LEADERS
We are currently accepting applications for the following Enlisted Technical Leader positions: HM-8463 Optician Technician and HM-8483 Surgical Technician. Applicants should have at least five years of service working in their respective technical fields, have Operational and Shore duty experience, and currently be on shore Duty. Applicants must submit an endorsement letter from their Commanding Officer to the Director of the Hospital Corps, Bureau of Medicine and Surgery, Washington DC. The Applicants Curriculum Vitae (CV) must be included as enclosure (1) of the endorsement letter. All packages must be received by November 28, 2008 for consideration.
