Sometimes it just hits home, With HM2 King it did.

I wrote my first article about the tragic accident of HM2 King last Monday.  I also asked that if anyone knew what his warfare designation was to please drop me a line.

Drop me a line they have, HM2 was a well respected Petty Officer who loved his Marines, and took care of all those in his charge.

While preparing to write the follow up to the original article, I had my laptop open in my kitchen, when my wife walked by and just froze.

You see, what few folks realize, I am married to a Nurse now, but she was a former FMF Doc herself.  She just stop and stared at the computer and then just started tearing up.

Come to find out, HM2 King and my wife went through NHCS togethor and FMSS (now FMTB) back in 1997.  Here is a picture of him while at FMSS. (I apologize for the picture condition, it looks like there was some mositure that got to it..)

You never know when you write one of these how close a shipmate is to you.  We are all brothers and sisters, I would drop what ever I am doing to help my shimpates, and fellow Servicemembers or their families.

The Patriot Guard will be standing by to assist the family for our fallen Shipmate yesterday, we send a salute to them as well.

We will update more when I get more information.

Rest in Peace HM2.  Your fellow “Doc’s” have the watch..
