I was assigned with the Marine Corps with 1/14 in the Bay Area in CA as the BN Med Chief.
I went from one minute just wearing Cammies on my way to work and in 30 minutes had full flak, Helmet, Locked and Loaded 9mm, M16 and we were preparing for war.
We went from Condition “ALPHA” to Condition “Delta” in a matter of 30 minutes..
The world changed for good after this….
What were you doing?? Leave a comment below..

I had just arrived in Pittsburgh. I always sleep with the TV on Fox News/CNN and the news woke me up from a dead sleep..
I was working in car sales. My shift that day was from noon to nine. I was living in Grove City, Ohio. I remember waking up and while getting ready for work I was listening to the TV. While shaving I realized what I was hearing. “The TOWER HAS FALLEN”!!! I looked down and I had cut myself.
I can remember how quiet people were on the street when I went into town. It reminded me of a particular day in Highschool when a classmate had died on the way that morning. No one spoke. No one laughed. Only the shuffle of footseps and the palpable knowledge that a part of us was missing.
I was at work on the day that this first happened. We were all sitting around listing to the radio on what was going on. We were shocked with the amazament that something like this could happen. People were crying and very emotional over what was going on that we were sent home early to spend some time with our families. I was no where near the area this was going on for I am from Michigan. My heart goes out to everyone who was affected by what happened on 09/11.
