Are you up for E-4, E-5, E-6?
Are you a Reservist?
Or
Are you Active Duty Navy?
If your a Reservist, then this might be a little late in the game, and I hope you had the foresight to be ready for your August Drill and are fully prepared for your Advancement Exam.
Odd’s are though, And I have this from my 24 years experience of serving in the TAR/FTS program, that you have not even looked at the bib’s, or even know what the heck a Bibliography is. I would venture to say that 65% or more will not even score above a 40 on your advancement exam. To this I say:
SHAME ON YOU!!
For those others who did crack the Bib, did look up the instructions, I say “GOOD-LUCK” Shipmates. I hope you have all your ducks in order and are raring to go. As your coming down to the last few days before your drill weekend, remember to hit the high spots. Don’t overkill.
A few tips..
1. If the Answer comes to you as you read the question, go with it, don’t second guess.
2. If you don’t know the answer to a question, don’t fret, circle the number and move on, sometimes later in the test another question will jog your memory for that very same question. Remember though to go back to the circled questions and give a answer. If you get stuck on a question and fret on it, there is a good chance you won’t give yourself the time needed to answer the questions you “DO” know later on down the test. Finish the whole thing then go back to the circled questions.
3. “C” is not the correct answer on those you don’t know.. Also “Modern Art” is not the way to go on a test answer sheet.
4. Always get a good night sleep the night before, prepare your uniform, make sure you have your ID-card etc. No ID Card, or Wrong uniform, can make for a very sad day if you have been preparing and screw up one of the 2.
Active Duty, Here are some very important Dates!!
E6: 4 SEP 08
E5: 11 SEP 08
E4: 18 SEP 08
You all are still lucky If you have not started yet then you better well Download ASAP.
They can be found Here: Active Duty Bibs
Good Luck, Give yourself at least a hour a day of studying time. It would suck if you have a EP or a MP and you serve yourself a crappy score on the advancement exam.
If your looking for the correspondence accompanying the Bibs, go to Hospital Corpsman. Org which is run by Ensign Howell. While not enlisted anymore he does his best trying to keep the information current and accurate.
(BTW He and I keep in touch to help each other out and keep it all current on both sites.).
And same as above make sure you follow the same steps the night before your exam as I wrote in the Reserve Section.
Good Luck to you all!!
