1. CREATION OF E7-E9 EVALUATION AND COUNSELING FORM

This NAVADMIN replaces the current FITREP for E-7 through E-9. The new Chief Evaluation will incorporate CPO expectations as performance traits, which completes alignment of CPO expectations, selection guidance, and evaluations. For more information please review the attached NAVADMIN 176/08.

2. SAFETY MESSAGE FROM FLEET McCALIP

The first week of summer was an exceptionally difficult weekend as several Sailors were killed or injured in various accidents. Please read the attached message and share with all of our Sailors the need for safety not only during the summer months but through the year as well.

3. NAVY ANNOUNCES FREE FOREIGN LANGUAGE TRAINING ON NKO

Please review the attached NAVADMIN 178/08. It provides information and guidance on the free foreign language training now provided on Navy Knowledge Online (NKO) for all Active Duty, Reserve and Civilian personnel.

4. DEADLINE TO REPORT EDUCATION CREDITS IS 01 SEP 08

You may remember reading that Sailors would be able to earn 2 exam points for an associate’s degree, or 4 points for a bachelor’s degree on

the Fall 2008 exam cycle. Educational transcripts and records need to be submitted to the Navy College Office by 1 SEP to be counted. Points will be awarded for the highest degree held, and will increase the overall final multiple score(FMS) points with no reduction in points from other factors. Please review the attached file named education for more details.

5. RESERVE E-7 SELECTION RESULTS FOR FY09

Congratulations to all who were selected. Please review the attached NAVADMIN 177/08 for a complete listing.

6. FAMLY SERVICEMEMBER GROUP LIFE INSURANCE (FSGLI)

Please see the attached file label FSGLI for important information regarding the FSGLI entitlement. Amplifying information is provided in the attached memorandum from the Under Secretary of Defense dated February 8, 2005.
