I hate and love Fridays.
I love Fridays because it is the end of the week and we get Saturday and Sunday with our families.
I hate Fridays for News, because it is GAWD AWFUL slow…
So I am going to create my own… Me being the Best Darn Anchorman in the NAVY…
Da-Chief, your Anchorman |
We will call this Corpsman.com notes…
- Corpsman.com Attack of Da-Chief was recorded today and is up on our Corpsman.com Live page.
Just scroll down to the TALKSHOE plug in and you can listen to the show. I will also be posting a .mp3 later on tonight so you can download it for your MP3 players. I have to convert from .wav to .mp3 later on tonight. I will also be cleaning this version up a bit.
- CrazyCajun has added the Corpsman History page on our Main page. Just click on it and you can read the Corpsman history. As with any history it is a living thing so this will be updated. If anyone knows how to get a hold of HMCM Hacala please have him contact us or send me his email to admin1@corpsman.com.
- We have added our “ABOUT US” page. This is a work in progress, my bio needs to be updated and we need to add several staff members bios as well.
- I am looking for someone who is in to and understands mixing audio. If you are that person and would like to volunteer sometime to teach a old dog some new tricks, please contact me @ hmc.crone@corpsman.com.
- We are looking for a powered “Condenser Mic” so I can get my mixer up and running the right way. We are probably going to be setting up our Podcasts to be recorded solely on SKYPE. The reason for this, it’s all digital, rather then converting from one format to another then back down. I am working this issue this weekend. You may expect to see another Podcast this weekend as a test.
- Tuesday Nights we host a Chat from 2100-2300 EST in our Scuttlebutt Forums in the E-Club Chat. For the first hour I usually tie in a Video portion as well. This week we tried USTREAM, and the folks told me I sounded like I was ALVIN THE CHIPMUNK. So this week we will be trying “STICKAM“. If you want to be in on the Video Chat and you have a NETCAM, please sign up prior for a free account. Just hit the link above. Understand we are trying to find the best solution for us. I would like to tie in our PODCASTS/NETCASTS with a VIDEOCAST. I know absolutely nothing about this so you will watch the bumps and bruises on the way.
- You all came in big time during the holidays with Dee’s “ADOPT A DOC” program. Well for the most part those Doc’s are coming home. With that though there are other Doc’s who have deployed and need to be adopted. Right now we have 7 names of service people who could use some good cheer from us. Please email DeeDee @ editor@corpsman.com , and she will adopt you out to your charge. Thank you for assisting us with this great program.
- If you wish to be kept up to date 24 hours a day 7 days a week on what is going on here, you should think about joining Twitter. This program is like a Microblog. What is nice is it goes out instantaneously to the whole “Corpsman_Com” community if you sign up for it. It can also be ported out SMS to your cell if you so want it. What are the applications of this? Well say your traveling and are going through Dallas, TX and you need to stop some place. You would then twitter to the Corpsman_Com group “Hey I am in the Dallas Area, where is a good place to eat?” Well 8404, who lives in that area would see the “TWEET” and would respond with a answer etc.
When we broadcast or when something happens on the site you can get instant updates as well.
Sign up for a “TWITTER” account, then look up “Corpsman_Com” and also “Corpsmanmom” (DeeDee).
Well thats about it, but last and certainly not least,
Dee’s son Dan Reno will be arriving at the Detroit Metro Airport on Monday Night. I wrote about it, Podcasted about it etc.. I know she is excited and really wanted to to let her know we are so proud of HN Reno. There is a big surprise with his homecoming as well but will leave that until next week.
So have a great weekend.
Fair Winds and Following Seas..
